Perfect to put you in the mood for Fall！Fox has delivered another fun， entertaining story with all of the crew from Sugarland， plus some visiting relatives。 Set amid the High School homecoming weekend， this story brings Verity’s mother， Tilly， and husband Carl back into the fold for the festivities。 Mom is anxious to reconnect with her BFF， but a decades old tragedy comes to light and has Verity on the trail of a killer。 Her efforts are minimally hampered by her mom’s inability to keep her mouth Perfect to put you in the mood for Fall！Fox has delivered another fun， entertaining story with all of the crew from Sugarland， plus some visiting relatives。 Set amid the High School homecoming weekend， this story brings Verity’s mother， Tilly， and husband Carl back into the fold for the festivities。 Mom is anxious to reconnect with her BFF， but a decades old tragedy comes to light and has Verity on the trail of a killer。 Her efforts are minimally hampered by her mom’s inability to keep her mouth closed， but with the help of gangster ghost， Frankie， and her cop boyfriend， Ellis， she’s determined to find the answers at all costs。Frankie finds himself in some hot water （again！） with the love of his life， and agrees to help with the unofficial investigation only if Verity will straighten things out for him。 We also get a generous helping of Verity’s pet skunk， Lucy， who is enjoying her gramma time。 Fox always lays out a rich setting， with the perfect amount of detail to give the reader a clear vision of the story。 The characters are quite familiar， now， and gain dimension and depth with every book。The Southern Ghost Hunter books are a delightful series， easy to read， well developed plots， fantastic， quirky characters and always a satisfying ending。 Each book stands alone， but reading them from the first is just the best。 I highly recommend Haunted Homecoming for mystery lovers， like me， or anyone who appreciates a great story with memorable characters！ 。。。more

I’ve been enjoying Angie Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter series for years now， so I was pleased to receive an ARC of the latest volume - The Haunted Homecoming。It’s always so much fun to return to this world， and to catch up with a favourite cast of characters。 Verity， Lucy， and Frankie make such a great team。 This time around， Verity’s mother is in town for a special homecoming celebration。 They come across a body， and hilarity ensues as they investigate。I really enjoyed reading this book。 As alway I’ve been enjoying Angie Fox’s Southern Ghost Hunter series for years now， so I was pleased to receive an ARC of the latest volume - The Haunted Homecoming。It’s always so much fun to return to this world， and to catch up with a favourite cast of characters。 Verity， Lucy， and Frankie make such a great team。 This time around， Verity’s mother is in town for a special homecoming celebration。 They come across a body， and hilarity ensues as they investigate。I really enjoyed reading this book。 As always， the writing flowed really well。 The mystery was intriguing， and there’s plenty of interest to keep you turning the pages。 It was fun to explore Verity’s relationship with her mother a little， as she’s very much been an absent character so far。 I enjoyed the Frankie and Molly subplot， I can’t really say any more without spoilers。 If you’re looking for a fun murder mystery， with a supernatural twist， look no further。 This one has a great plot， a sense of community， and plenty of funny moments too。 Although this story works on its own， I highly recommend buying the whole series and bingeing them from start to finish！I was given a free copy of this book， my opinions are my own。 。。。more

I was very happy to have received a copy of the book through Net-Galley， in exchange for a review， since I am not only a huge fan of the Author but also of the Series。 I would recommend that you read the books in order， but you can still enjoy this book， since you will get the backstory on a lot of characters。 As usual this was a fun book to read， I wish we could have had more interaction between Verity and Ellis， but it was also great to get to know her Mom。 The storyline was great and I had to I was very happy to have received a copy of the book through Net-Galley， in exchange for a review， since I am not only a huge fan of the Author but also of the Series。 I would recommend that you read the books in order， but you can still enjoy this book， since you will get the backstory on a lot of characters。 As usual this was a fun book to read， I wish we could have had more interaction between Verity and Ellis， but it was also great to get to know her Mom。 The storyline was great and I had to force myself to read the book more slowly to make it last。 Can't wait until the next installment。 。。。more

This is my second book that I have read in this series and I absolutely just love them。 They are refreshingly quaint and hallelujah an actual cozy murder mystery。 No gore， no cursing， and actually a mystery that you have to put pieces together to solve！ I absolutely love cozies。 I end up reading mostly cozies these days and I tell you sometimes it is hard to actually find a good cozy that is actually what it is supposed to be。 They either start off great then end up falling into staleness。 Or th This is my second book that I have read in this series and I absolutely just love them。 They are refreshingly quaint and hallelujah an actual cozy murder mystery。 No gore， no cursing， and actually a mystery that you have to put pieces together to solve！ I absolutely love cozies。 I end up reading mostly cozies these days and I tell you sometimes it is hard to actually find a good cozy that is actually what it is supposed to be。 They either start off great then end up falling into staleness。 Or they end up being ruined by gore and filthy talk。 This book completely hits the mark！I absolutely adore Verity and Lucy。 Verity is just like the rest of us。 Just trying to go about her life and do the best she can。 She is super relatable and absolutely as sweet as pie， until she's not。 I love that she's an actual lady but can get down and dirty if need be。Sugarland is just the cutest little town and reminds me of so many little towns that I have lived in/visited through out my life。 I love that in these books manners and chivalry still do exist。 In this world these are traits that seem to be going extinct。You truly feel her emotions and her way of thinking things through。 And I absolutely love her gangster ghost。 He is absolutely hilarious。 In fact， I have never been a huge fan of having ghost anything in the books that I read。 However， these books have changed the way that I look at things and I now find that I like having that element in them。I honestly wish that Verity was a real person。 She is definitely someone that I could see myself hanging out with。 All of the characters are great。 I especially love her sister Melody。 What a great bunch of gals。 Their mom is a nice lady to but a whole lot of a bucket mouth and I could see why both girls get frustrated with her。 I dislike that in a person myself。 Hard to have a relationship with someone who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'discretion。'And Lucy her pet skunk。 Oh my！ What an adorable critter！ It is so refreshing to be able to read about a pet that isn't a dog or a cat。 Don't get me wrong， I love both equally but it is so cool to read about。 I had a great aunt that actually owned a pet skunk。 Thankfully， it was de-bagged as is obviously Lucy。 It's these little extra nuances that give readers such an in depth look into a characters life that keep us fans for life。Every time I read one of these books they just keep getting better and better。 I look forward to every book that I read。 The mystery was really complex and I had no idea who the killer was until the end。 The ending was very well done。 This series is just a huge hit with me。Highly highly highly enjoyable from start to finish。 I could not recommend this book enough。Thank you to the author and to NetGalley for the ability to read and review this book。 All opinions are honest and are my own。 。。。more

Another wonderful Angie Fox book。 Although the main story is a murder mystery， I really enjoyed Frankie and his relationship issues and fear of being tortured by other ghost mobsters。 Mom was a bit irritating， but she grow on me。 Fun to read and full of surprises。

I can't believe we are 10 books into this world！ Each book adds another layer on top of the already awesome previous ones， dragging me deeper and deeper into this wonderful Southern story。This book has us officially meeting Verity's mom as she returns for the town's homecoming celebration。 There are tons of generations all celebrating in town， which leads to your expected mayhem and mystery。 In this instance， it is a gruesome discovery in the town's time capsule that puts Verity hot on the case I can't believe we are 10 books into this world！ Each book adds another layer on top of the already awesome previous ones， dragging me deeper and deeper into this wonderful Southern story。This book has us officially meeting Verity's mom as she returns for the town's homecoming celebration。 There are tons of generations all celebrating in town， which leads to your expected mayhem and mystery。 In this instance， it is a gruesome discovery in the town's time capsule that puts Verity hot on the case of a murderer。 Ellis， always supportive， is now forced to try to protect all the Long girls at once - a tall task indeed！Our favorite gangster also plays pretty prominently in this story， while not an eager ghost hunting participant， he is at least working （also， reluctantly） on his love life。 There's a lot of deception， twists， and turns there， just like with the main mystery storyline。 This story had me both rooting for and cringing at Verity's mom the entire way。 Do we get a solid mystery resolution？ Yup！ Verity always gets her man， or ghost， or "other。" On top of that， we have a bit of a cliffhanger at the end here that has me eager to dive in to the next installment！ 。。。more

Adored this book！ this whole series is fabulous。 An unexpected （and unwelcome） surprise awaits when the capsule buried years ago is opened during the Sugarland homecoming。 Verity， which questionable help from her mom， work hard to solve the case and find out what happened so long ago。。。。This series is so much fun， not to mention the sidebar story of Frankie and Molly！ Will Frankie come clean with Molly about who he really is？Great read！

Verity Long lives in Sugarland and is welcoming her mother and step-dad for Homecoming。 Verity’s mom， Tilly， is anxious to meet a classmate who ran away on their last homecoming before graduating。 Tilly’s mom likes to overshare and tells everyone about Verity’s ghosting abilities and any hint they get along the way putting everyone in danger。 This is the first book in this series that I have read。 I thoroughly enjoyed it。 I’m not sure about a skunk as a pet but hopefully Lucy has been deskunked。

trigger warning（view spoiler）[ grief （hide spoiler）]Even Verity's mother is back in town for this year's homecoming， as the time capsule that was put down in '85 will be opened prematurely to make space for addendums to the stadium。 Everyone will be there！Verity's mother hopes to finally meet Ashley， her best friend， again， who eloped years ago。As I requested this， I didn't realise it was part of a series。 This is my own fault， on Netgalley it says it's the newest installment in a series， and a trigger warning（view spoiler）[ grief （hide spoiler）]Even Verity's mother is back in town for this year's homecoming， as the time capsule that was put down in '85 will be opened prematurely to make space for addendums to the stadium。 Everyone will be there！Verity's mother hopes to finally meet Ashley， her best friend， again， who eloped years ago。As I requested this， I didn't realise it was part of a series。 This is my own fault， on Netgalley it says it's the newest installment in a series， and a book about homecoming simply is wrong if you're new to the set of characters。 So much of this relies on you knowing who the protagonist meets， already having an opinion on them - this simply did not work for me。But I urge you to read other reviews， from people who knew what they were getting into。If you take this aspect aside， I disliked how friendly everyone was。 Even when things got rough， the protagonist， who also narrated the whole thing， was forcing herself to look on the bright side of things which got on my nerves。 Everybody seemed so forced bright， it felt unreal。To conclude: Just not a book for me。 Which does not mean it won't be the right book for you。The arc was provided by the publisher。 。。。more
